Facilities Director

About This Role

Directing the facilities operations for an expanding plant in Penang is the core of this role. It involves planning, organizing, controlling, and managing all site facilities, including operations, maintenance, space planning, and various civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical systems. The position suits a candidate with strong leadership and technical expertise in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the subcontracted facilities team
• Oversee the functioning of all building systems including mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, plumbing, wastewater systems management, cleanrooms, manufacturing areas, and office spaces
• Control, monitor, and approve budget and contract services for startup projects
• Manage space planning, layout, and utility systems capacity to support manufacturing requirements
• Develop and manage preventive and predictive facilities maintenance programs
• Drive for cost-effectiveness in the maintenance of facilities equipment and systems
• Drive and participate in continuous improvement projects
• Lead a team consisting of Facilities Senior Engineers, Engineers, and Technicians

Requirements

• BS Engineering Degree, preferably Electrical or Mechanical
• Master's Degree in Business or Facilities Management Experience is a plus
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the same or related capacity
• Preferably experience in a cleanroom environment and large manufacturing setup
• Excellent leadership, communication, and writing skills
