The Facilities Director oversees the maintenance, operation, and long-term planning of the school's buildings and grounds. Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day facilities tasks, including building maintenance, snow removal, grounds work, parking lots, roads, and pathways, sports fields, and woods
- Coordinate outside contractors for repairs, inspections, landscaping, or building improvement
- Coordinate the purchase of goods related to buildings and grounds maintenance
- Collaborate with the Administrative Team, Director of Business and Operations, and the Director of Educational Programs regarding physical plant needs
- Manage and evaluate facilities personnel
- Coordinate school vehicle maintenance and inspections
- Coordinate parking for events
- Manage facilities planning and space allocation
- Ensure all utility systems are inspected in accordance with regulations
- Maintain a safe environment for all employees
- Manage water testing with State DES
- Oversee playground inspection for safety concerns
- Coordinate with the Ashram facilities manager about shared projects and equipment
- Maintain contact with Sanbornton DPW Director about the condition of town roads near school
- Coordinate analysis of the roads to school during weather or mud events
- Collaborate with the Head of School regarding school closings
- Be on call for the alarm company
- Serve on the Safety Committee
- Help Director of Finance & Operations coordinate safety drills
Requirements
- Experience in building maintenance, building construction, electrical and plumbing work
- Ability to supervise and manage facilities staff
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Valid driver
