Fabricator

About This Role

Fabricating custom equipment and infrastructure for water and dewatering operations is the core of this role. You will transform engineering drawings into high-quality finished products by cutting, fitting, welding, and assembling custom equipment, structural components, piping systems, and mobile dewatering solutions. Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, sketches, and work instructions
• Measure, mark, and lay out materials for cutting, drilling, and fabrication
• Fabricate custom components and assemblies from raw materials according to specifications
• Perform MIG and stick welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and other materials as required
• Fit, tack, weld, and finish fabricated products to meet quality and dimensional standards
• Assemble fabricated structures, piping systems, pump skids, trailers, and custom equipment
• Safely operate fabrication equipment including plasma cutters, oxy-fuel torches, band saws, drill presses, ironworkers, grinders, and other shop tools
• Utilize precision measuring instruments including tape measures, squares, calipers, and levels
• Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance
• Report mechanical issues and equipment concerns promptly
• Inspect completed welds, assemblies, and fabricated components to ensure compliance with specifications and engineering drawings
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all safety policies and properly utilize required PPE
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity
• Partner with supervisors, engineers, and fellow team members to resolve fabrication challenges and improve processes
• Support field modifications, repairs, and special projects as needed
• Contribute to a collaborative team culture focused on craftsmanship and operational excellence

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 3+ years of fabrication and welding experience in a manufacturing, industrial, construction, or heavy equipment environment
• GMAW experience required
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and engineering specifications
• Strong metal fabrication and welding skills
• Proficiency using precision measuring equipment and layout tools
• Ability to safely operate fabrication machinery and power tools
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
