About the role

We are hiring Executive - Stores for a leading chemical company's greenfield plant in Dahej.

Initially the role will focus on Project Stores and later on transitioning to Operational Stores - responsible for Raw Material, Packaging and Engineering Stores.

Key Responsibilities

Project Phase

  • Support establishment of the project warehouse, storage areas and stores
  • procedures.
  • Receive and verify project materials against Purchase Orders and delivery
  • documents.
  • Coordinate inspection and acceptance with Project, Engineering and Quality
  • teams.
  • Complete timely Goods Receipt and other required SAP transactions.
  • Edit
  • Maintain proper tagging, location coding, traceability and preservation of projectmaterials.
  • Record and resolve shortages, damages, excess supplies and specificationmismatches.
  • Issue materials to contractors against authorized documents and maintainreconciliation.
  • Track returnable, surplus, rejected and free-issue materials.
  • Support material reconciliation, capitalization and handover to the operationalstores.

Plant Operations

  • Manage receipt, storage, preservation and issuance of raw materials, packingmaterials, engineering spares and consumables.
  • Maintain optimum inventory and timely material availability for production andmaintenance.
  • Follow proper binning, labelling, batch traceability and FIFO/FEFO practices.
  • Ensure accurate SAP transactions for receipts, issues, transfers and returns.
  • Conduct physical stock verification and reconcile book stock with actualinventory.
  • Monitor slow-moving, non-moving, excess, obsolete and rejected materials.
  • Coordinate with Procurement, Planning, Production, Quality, Engineering,Finance and EHS.
  • Prepare stores MIS and support internal, statutory and management audits.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and 5S practices.

Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure safe and authorized storage of chemicals, hazardous materials andengineering items.
  • Follow EHS requirements, statutory regulations, SDS and material-compatibilitynorms.
  • Maintain proper segregation, stacking, ventilation, spill control and fireprotection.
  • Prevent unauthorized receipt, storage, movement or issuance of materials.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Timely and accurate material receipt and SAP posting.
  • Inventory accuracy and effective stock reconciliation.
  • Material availability without project or production delays.
  • Control of shortages, damages, excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Safety, audit, statutory and 5S compliance.
  • Effective contractor and project-material reconciliation.

Required Skills

  • Experience in project and manufacturing-plant stores.
  • Working knowledge of SAP MM or a similar ERP system.
  • Understanding of inventory control, engineering materials and chemical storage.
  • Good documentation, reconciliation, MIS and Excel skills.
  • Strong coordination, accuracy, integrity and safety awareness.
