Duties
As an Executive Readiness Program participant, you will:
- Attend leadership classes, intensive experiential workshops, and one-on-one simulations designed to enhance your leadership skills.
- Obtain group and individualized coaching/mentoring, receive executive level competency-based training, and 360° feedback sessions to assess current leadership skills.
- Participate in developmental assignments, including in-place developmental activities and/or acting assignments to strengthen your understanding of IRS programs, and may receive intra-agency exposure at the senior level as well. Developmental assignments may require travel and/or temporary residence outside the local area.
- Meet with an Executive Coach and Mentor to review goals, experiences, and to develop strategies for success. Discuss situations and issues, and to obtain feedback and recommendations for future consideration and implementation.

Qualifications
You must meet the following eligibility and basic qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement:
In order to qualify for the Executive Readiness (XR) Program, applicants must demonstrate that they have at least 12 months of management or leadership experience at the GS-14 level or equivalent. Specialized leadership experience, equivalent to a GS-14 or higher level, can be from the Federal Government or comparable management or leadership experience outside of Federal service. For Basic Qualifications, leadership experience can include leading a project team, managing employees and/or managing managers. Applicants should be able to demonstrate in their resumes, significant achievements, increasing levels of responsibility as managers, and a solid record of successful professional performance.
In addition, your experience must be sufficient to demonstrate:
•Knowledge of management techniques, methods, theories, principles and labor relations concepts, sufficient to assure optimum utilization of personnel, equipment, and space, and to accomplish program objectives through combined technical and administrative oversight;
•Ability to plan, direct, and evaluate work of subordinate managers, employees, and/or others;
•Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of appropriate operations, policies, applicable laws, regulations, rules, practices and procedures of the Service.
•Knowledge of budget and fiscal methods used in establishing and maintaining an organization.
•Thorough knowledge of major IRS program segments, organizational structures and functional responsibilities.
-The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
