About the role

Duties

Air Reserve Technicians are full-time civilian employees who are also members of the Air Force Reserve unit in which they are employed.  In addition to their civilian assignments, they are assigned to equivalent positions in the Reserve organization with a Reserve military rank or grade.  Appointee's civilian assignments will consist of the following duties:

·         Serves as the executive advisor and monitors the effectiveness of programs and initiatives within the wing.

·         Performs a variety of staff studies relating to the management and provides data required to support current or future plans and operations.  

·         Plans/conducts staff meetings and represents the senior ART at meetings and conferences involving agency plans, interpretation of policies and special events and projects, as directed.

·         Manages wing resources for executive support, services and activities.

·         Responsible for the inspection program for the ART element, implements security measures in compliance with regulations and monitors measures to assure effectiveness.  

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-11) or equivalent.  Specialized experience must include performing work with knowledge of the overall mission, functions, operations, principles and processes of executive support OR any directly related experience which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.  (To be creditable, specialized perceived must meet the above quality level requirements.) 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):  Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 

  1. Knowledge of the overall mission, functions, operations and organization; and a variety of principles and processes applicable to the work operations of a military wing or equivalent.

  2. Knowledge of analytical, evaluative, planning and investigative processes, techniques and methods as applied to issues or studies involving administrative or support functions.

  3. Knowledge of the laws, regulations, policies and precedents applicable to wing programs and related support resources or equivalent.

4.  Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.

5.  Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

6.  Ability to plan, organize work, and manage multiple taskings.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE**:** Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.  You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. 

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE:  Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).  Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.  You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
