About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Executive Director, Provider Contracting- Work from home to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This executive role will lead provider contracting strategy across a broad healthcare network, with a strong focus on reimbursement, hospital and physician relationships, and cost management. The position will partner closely with internal stakeholders to negotiate agreements, support network adequacy, and improve financial outcomes through disciplined contracting practices. It also requires using reporting and audit insights to guide corrective actions and maintain effective provider relationships.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $161,500 – $299,700 annually

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage statewide contracting strategies for HMO and PPO plans
  • Negotiate and complete reimbursement contracts, ensuring adequate network coverage
  • Draft and manage contracts for hospitals and other healthcare providers
  • Achieve cost savings through competitive negotiations and strategic relationships
  • Analyze reporting data to shape reimbursement strategies and implement corrective actions
  • Supervise hospital audits and ensure correct reimbursement of costs
  • Conduct conflict resolution for contracts and oversee staff performance, training, and communication

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 15 years of experience in healthcare or insurance administration, or 19 years of relevant experience
  • 7 years of management experience in healthcare contracting and hospital or physician relations
  • Expertise in hospital and provider reimbursement strategies and policies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for negotiation and conflict resolution
  • Proven leadership skills with a team-oriented and relationship-focused approach
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines effectively
  • Proficient negotiation skills and sound judgment in financial matters
