We are seeking a motivated, dependable
Exam Room Assistant
to join our veterinary team. This role works closely with a doctor and a Patient Care Assistant to ensure smooth patient flow and excellent client service in a busy exam room environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with clients and patients in a fast-paced setting
- Review daily appointments with the doctor and Patient Care Assistant
- Obtain brief patient histories and temperatures
- Safely and confidently restrain patients when necessary
- Assist the doctor during exams and procedures
- Maintain the flow of the day and keep the team on schedule
- Communicate professionally with clients, both in person and by phone
- Make doctor call-backs as needed
- Call prescriptions into pharmacies
- Prepare and make medications
- Remain on your feet for most of the shift
Qualifications
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable handling and restraining patients safely
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to lift and assist patients as needed
- Knowledge of medications or willingness to learn quickly
- Team-oriented mindset with a strong sense of responsibility
- Reliable and punctual with flexibility for AM and PM hours
