Job Summary
This position will work with the Fulbright Events team to advance the mission of the Fulbright program by creating engagement and connections among Fulbright students, scholars, and professionals. Through our events, Fulbrighters from around the world connect with each other, engage with concepts and ideas, and further their professional development, academic success, and understanding of the United States and other countries.

This position is responsible for the design, conceptualization and implementation of Fulbright seminar and professional development activities, including but not limited to core in-person seminars and/or special thematic seminars. The Events specialist is the primary point of contact for unique programs in the Fulbright portfolio and Events Team portfolio including, but not limited to, high profile meetings, summits, and VIP gatherings. The specialist will have primary responsibility for content development, sponsor communication, subcontractor monitoring, and on-site implementation.

Essential Functions

  • Develops Seminar themes, conducts agenda review, and advises on speaker identification and preparation.
  • Manages activities of the assigned portfolios, including the RFP process, seminar design, logistical implementation, and subcontractor monitoring.
  • Establishes timetables, events and processes for Fulbright Student in-person and virtual seminars and professional development programs.
  • Manages the key areas on all assigned events including: solicitation of seminar program content proposals from qualified organizations; oversight of event management system and other technology solutions; financial monitoring and closeout; and program reporting and assessment.
  • Ensures appropriate compliance with policies and procedures. Designs and implements new procedures for event management, as needed.
  • Represents IIE at in-person events, liaising with sponsors, program partners, VIPs, and participants.

Job Requirements - Qualifications And Experience
Education and Work Experience:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree and at least five years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Experience developing adult-education programming on general and specific topics, preferred.
  • Experience managing large-scale event planning operations.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Experience managing resources and workflow.
  • Ability to build and/or adhere to project budgets.
  • Experience overseeing program vendor contracting and financial closeout.

Salary And Benefits

  • Hiring Range: $73,805 - $85,801. A candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, job-related knowledge, skills, abilities, internal organizational equity, and geographic region.
