Event Planner

About This Role

Planning, executing, and supporting events is the main purpose of this new position at the Genesis Event Center, a new event center in Arden Hills. This hybrid role combines event logistics with sales and marketing execution, driving brand visibility, customer engagement, and revenue growth. The role suits a highly organized and creative candidate who is comfortable working directly with clients, vendors, and internal teams to deliver exceptional event experiences while contributing to lead generation and promotional efforts.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of events, including scheduling, venue selection, vendor management, décor, catering, and onsite logistics
• Develop event timelines, run-of-show documents, and staffing plans
• Manage event setup, execution, and teardown to ensure smooth operations
• Direct sales by preparing proposals, presentations, and event-related sales materials
• Attend events as a brand representative to engage attendees and support lead-capture activities
• Follow up on event-generated leads and coordinate with sales for next steps
• Maintain CRM records related to event prospects and partners
• Collaborate with leadership team to create event promotional campaigns, including email, social media, and digital advertising
• Produce event content such as flyers, signage, social posts, and website updates
• Track and analyze event performance metrics to optimize future marketing efforts

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in event coordination, marketing, sales, or a related field
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to multitask
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Fluent in both English and Spanish
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Familiarity with CRM and marketing tools is a plus
• Ability to work evenings or weekends as needed for events
• Comfortable interacting with clients, vendors, and stakeholders

Nice to have:

• Experience in B2B or B2C event planning
• Graphic design or social media management skills
• Background in hospitality, marketing, communications, or business
• Ability to negotiate vendor contracts and manage budgets
• Familiarity with event management platforms (e.g., Eventbrite, Cvent)
