Event Manager

About This Role

An Event Manager plans, organises, and executes a wide range of events that support the company's marketing and communications objectives. This full-time role involves managing all aspects of event delivery, from budgeting to logistics, and leading a team of coordinators and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive event plans, including budgeting, scheduling, and logistics management
• Liaise with vendors, venues, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth delivery of events
• Coordinate and oversee all event-related activities, such as registration, catering, and audiovisual requirements
• Monitor event budgets and ensure efficient use of resources
• Evaluate the success of events and provide recommendations for future improvements
• Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to align events with the company's brand and messaging
• Manage a team of event coordinators and volunteers, providing guidance and support as needed

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in event management, preferably within the marketing and communications industry
• Demonstrated experience in planning and executing successful events, from small-scale workshops to large-scale conferences
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
• Proficient in using event management software and tools
• Creative problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail
• Familiarity with the local event industry and regulatory requirements in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah
