Ethics Officer - PT

City Colleges of Chicago (CCC), the largest community college system in Illinois, is made up of seven colleges and five satellite sites, providing more than 70,000 students access to a quality, affordable education.

Primary Objective

Reporting to the General Counsel, the Ethics Officer - PT serves as a senior staff member within the Office of the General Counsel. This position plays a critical role in overseeing and implementing City Colleges of Chicago’s Board Ethics Policies and ensuring compliance with ethical standards. The Ethics Officer - PT provides expert advice concerning ethical matters, handling inquiries, violations, and related training efforts.

Essential Duties

• Oversees City Colleges of Chicago’s Board Ethics Policies

• Addresses ethical inquiries and reports of ethical violations

• Develops and provides ethics training sessions for faculty, staff, and administrators

• Produces an annual ethics report outlining significant developments during the prior fiscal year

• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university

• Juris doctorate is a plus

• At least five years of ethics or compliance experience

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent public speaking skills

• Ability to function in a high-level position requiring utmost confidentiality, discretion, tact, and judgment

• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)

Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as other factors such as internal equity.
