Estimator

About This Role

This role delivers comprehensive and accurate cost estimates to inform project planning, bidding, and execution, supporting organizational profitability and competitiveness. It applies in-depth analytical skills to evaluate project documents, market conditions, and historical data, ensuring estimates reflect current trends and risks. The estimator collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions and value engineering options that optimize project outcomes, influencing decision-making by presenting clear, data-driven recommendations to project leaders and stakeholders. The role also enhances estimating processes by identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate project cost estimates for moderately complex projects, incorporating material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs from concept through final pricing
• Extract production data for planning, scope alignment, and integration of family of companies, including SPW, Prefab, DBC, etc. to support project deliverables
• Review project drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify scope, risks, and opportunities for cost savings
• Coordinate with Precon Coordinators, project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to assemble comprehensive bid packages, and provide clear instructions and clarifications to bidders
• Analyze market trends, vendor pricing, and historical data to inform estimate development and risk assessment
• Contribute to value engineering efforts by analyzing cost impacts and proposing alternative materials, methods, or solutions to enhance project value
• Support estimate reviews and documentation by organizing assumptions, qualifications, and clarifications to promote transparency and alignment with project objectives

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, a related field, or equivalent experience required
• 4-6 years of experience in estimating, cost analysis, project controls, or a related field required
