Role Description The Essential Plan Account Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in East Amherst, NY. This role is responsible for managing Essential Plan member accounts, serving as a primary point of contact for questions, issues, and benefit education. The Account Manager supports enrollment and retention activities, helps members understand coverage options, and coordinates with internal teams to resolve eligibility, billing, and service concerns. Daily responsibilities include tracking account performance, preparing member and partner reports, and maintaining accurate documentation in systems and databases. The role also involves collaborating with community partners, attending local outreach events as needed, and ensuring that member experiences align with UnitedHealthcare’s standards for service, compliance, and quality.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in account management, customer service, and relationship building to support members and community partners.
- Experience with data entry, documentation, and basic reporting or analysis to monitor account activity and performance.
- Strong communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication, active listening, and the ability to explain complex benefit information in accessible terms.
- Organizational and time-management skills to prioritize multiple accounts, meet deadlines, and follow through on member issues.
- Ability to work on-site in East Amherst, NY, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with health insurance, government-sponsored plans, or healthcare administration is highly beneficial.
- Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office suite) and comfort learning new systems and tools.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or a related field is a plus.
