About This Role
Maintaining and repairing material handling equipment to ensure it operates safely and efficiently is the core of this mechanic role. The position involves both preventative maintenance and diagnostics, ensuring all equipment meets safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Service all material handling equipment according to the Preventative Maintenance Program
- Ensure all material handling equipment is operative and meets company safety standards
- Provide service and repairs of material handling equipment in all areas of distribution
- Repair all material handling equipment with comprehensive understanding of electronic theory, SCR theory and operation, transistor control, A/C control, hydraulic theory and operation, and all phases of material handling equipment and repair
- Possess high diagnostic ability of electronics and high proficiency in all phases of troubleshooting and diagnostic work
- Perform basic MIG welding and oxy-acetylene torch usage, including general steel fabrication and cutting and burning
- Perform Raymond and Crown warranty repairs in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines and time requirements
- Work on store equipment when needed
- Serve as a road service mechanic when designated
- Complete proper paperwork upon finishing a repair function, identifying equipment repaired, man-hours used, and repair parts used for every work order
- Clean and maintain the Equipment Maintenance Work area upon completion of each repair or service function
- Supply and maintain all personal hand tools for day-to-day duties and activities
- Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and best practices while performing tasks
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Valid Driver’s License
- Fork Lift Operator’s License
- Satisfactory performance reviews
- Strong communication skills
Nice to have:
- 2+ years of related experience in material handling equipment service and repair
