Epidemiologist

About This Role

This role offers an exciting opportunity for an Epidemiologist to join a friendly and collaborative Real-World Evidence (RWE) team that is rapidly expanding due to client demand. The team designs, executes, and reports on a variety of prospective, retrospective, and cross-sectional real-world studies, developing protocols, performing statistical analyses, and communicating findings. The position involves working on multiple projects simultaneously, covering diverse research questions and therapeutic areas, and offers one-to-one training and rapid progression towards project management and client responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Work on projects involving the design and execution of a wide variety of real-world studies
• Perform statistical analyses
• Communicate results to external stakeholders in the healthcare sector
• Contribute to the design, execution, and subsequent reporting of prospective, retrospective, and cross-sectional real-world studies
• Develop protocols and statistical analysis plans
• Acquire and analyse data
• Communicate findings in both written and oral formats
• Work in project teams alongside colleagues from all service areas to ensure RWE projects are completed to an exceptionally high standard, on time, and in line with client expectations
• Participate in teleconferences and face-to-face meetings with external stakeholders after a successful induction period

Requirements

• Degree level or higher qualification in a relevant subject (minimum 2.1 or above)
• Good understanding of epidemiological techniques and data analysis methods
• Good understanding of statistical techniques, sufficient to engage in technical discussions with Statisticians
• Technical ability, coupled with written and oral communication skills, to explain complex techniques and results to non-experts
• Good understanding of the R programming language used for the analysis of large datasets, and the willingness and ability to rapidly develop programming skills
• Willingness to trial, explore, or recommend new software or techniques that may suit specific projects
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail, along with the ability to maintain a high level of customer service and the quality of deliverables under multiple competing demands
• Excellent organisational skills, with the flexibility to respond to changing deadlines
• Ability to use initiative and work independently, in addition to working collaboratively within project teams
• Excellent written English

• Familiarity with real-world healthcare data sources in the UK or elsewhere
