Epidemiologist

About This Role

An Epidemiologist partners with a diverse team of epidemiologists, applied statisticians, and software developers to design and implement research studies using complex, real-world data, such as insurance claims or electronic health records. This role offers hands-on experience in pharmacoepidemiology and advanced statistical methods, with opportunities to learn from leaders in the field.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to senior colleagues and clients in the design, implementation, and management of epidemiologic studies using real-world data
• Conduct literature reviews related to the diagnosis, treatment, and clinical outcomes for a variety of diseases
• Contribute to oral and written scientific communications through conference abstracts, posters, podium presentations, technical reports and white papers, and manuscripts
• Plan and conduct standard and advanced epidemiologic and statistical analyses with guidance from senior colleagues
• Support the development of study protocols, including design and analytical considerations
• Support the development of analysis plans for observational studies
• Support the submission of peer-reviewed publications to scientific journals
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Master's degree in epidemiology or equivalent experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3+ years of research experience in the design, execution, and publication of scientific research
• Experience and familiarity with quantitative research methods and fundamental statistical techniques
• Familiarity with the submission process of scientific manuscripts to peer-reviewed journals
• Strong foundational knowledge in epidemiological methods
• Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to take initiative while maintaining open lines of communication with senior colleagues
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
• In-depth knowledge of observational research methodologies
• Strong proficiency in MS Office
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and think analytically
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Proficiency in scientific writing
• Ability to plan and execute diverse tasks at the same time

Nice to have:

• Experience in observational research and/or pharmacoepidemiology
• R programming skills
