About the role

FULL TIME DAYSHIFT

Position Purpose:

Provide a clean, safe, aesthetically pleasing environment to the patients, visitors, and staff of Regional Hospital of Scranton and Moses Taylor campus in accordance with polices and procedures.

Position Qualifications:

·       High School graduate or equivalent education preferred.

·         General knowledge of housekeeping techniques, equipment, and supplies helpful.

Core Responsibilities

Cleaning & Disinfection: Routinely sanitize patient rooms, waiting areas, and high-touch surfaces using hospital-grade products to prevent the spread of infections.

Waste Management: Safely handle and dispose of medical waste, biohazardous materials (such as blood or bodily fluids), and sharps (like needles) according to OSHA guidelines.

Linen Handling: Collect soiled linens from patient areas and transport them to designated staging zones.

Bed Turnover: Quickly and thoroughly prepare (or "turn over") discharged patient rooms for new admissions.

Safety Protocols: Place warning signs for wet floors, properly use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and report facility maintenance issues.
