Environmental Scientist

About This Role

This junior-level Environmental Scientist position focuses on environmental compliance tasks for hazardous waste, non-RCRA waste, regulated waste, and hazardous materials management programs. The role involves data analytics and waste profile management, requiring strong communication skills for internal, client, and supplier interactions, as well as providing direction to entry-level staff. The position is primarily office-based.

Responsibilities

• Execute and manage various work scopes, meeting project schedules and budgets
• Work independently and as part of a project team, adjusting to changing conditions
• Occasionally interface with client personnel at a corporate and facility level
• Identify data discrepancies and manage resolution of corrections to full completion
• Communicate with regulatory agencies
• Manage time to ensure a quality product is prepared to meet project deadlines
• Apply knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and non-standard situations
• Follow defined processes explicitly while identifying and accommodating new or changing scenarios
• Develop processes for new activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, a core science (such as geology, chemistry, physics, or biology), engineering, or related area
• 2-4 years of related work experience
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong computer skills
• Demonstrated strength and proficiency with Microsoft applications such as MS Excel, MS Word, SharePoint Online
• Ability to learn other software applications
• Expert Excel skills
• Prior experience or training regarding environmental compliance and related federal and state environmental regulations

• Specific experience with RCRA and state hazardous waste, non-RCRA waste, and regulated waste compliance
