About This Role
This seasonal role as a Mascot Performer involves portraying a character to support the park's theme and engaging with the audience. The role requires continuous energy, creativity, and good judgment while adhering to directed dialogue and prop usage.
Responsibilities
- Portray character to support the tie into the park
- Adhere to dialogue and prop usage as directed
- Continuously focus energy to provide fresh appearances
- Focus connectivity with the audience while in costume
- Be quick and accurate with creativity and judgment calls
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established SVAP policies, procedures, and training
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Consistent attendance
- On track for a high school degree or GED highly preferred
- Performing experience preferred
- Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to respond to common inquiries from guests, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, or hear, and climb or balance
- Occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hands and arms
- For certain roles, ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and support this weight on the neck and shoulders
- For certain roles, ability to work with limited visibility, movement and within the confines of character costume which can weigh as much as 20-50 pounds
- Ability to operate in outdoor conditions
- Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions; frequently exposed to wet, humid conditions (non-weather), occasionally exposed to extreme cold (non-weather)
- Ability to work in a loud noise environment
- Ability to work in tight, dark spaces
