Entertainment Coordinator

About This Role

This role involves assisting in the creation, coordination, and execution of entertainment elements for all Carolina Hurricanes home games and ancillary events. The coordinator will manage talent, entertainment bookings, and promotional activities, while also contributing to the overall game day experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a point of contact on game days for Hurricanes Entertainment talent, including in-arena host, PA announcer, and DJ
• Manage the booking, hosting, and coordinating pre/post-game and intermission entertainment, including Anthem performers, color guards, siren sounders, bands, and special ceremony participants
• Own the creation and execution of entertainment, sponsorship activations, promotions, and contests in coordination with stakeholders
• Responsible for decision making and autonomously creating improvements to public facing game day moments
• Assist in the creation and execution of entertainment elements, coordinate promotional team, and act as stage manager at ancillary Carolina Hurricanes events as needed
• Build great working relationships with building/event personnel, vendors, internal departments, and clients

Requirements

• Must be self-motivated, creative, and demonstrate initiative
• Ability to work under high pressure situations with excellent composure
• Ability to always maintain confidential information and a professional image
• Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
• Knowledge of the Carolina Hurricanes and the NHL is preferred
• Must pass criminal background check

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with video production and broadcast systems
• 1-3 years of relevant live event experience; sporting event experience preferred
• Degree in Sports Management, Marketing, Communications, Broadcast Journalism, or related field preferred

Important Details

• Schedule: very flexible, non-traditional hours including nights, weekends and holidays

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time
• Ability to climb stairs and traverse an arena environment
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
