Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive ESL curricula tailored to adult learners’ needs, incorporating instructional materials development and learning technology tools such as Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Deliver engaging, interactive lessons through online instruction and classroom settings, ensuring active participation from students of all proficiency levels
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to accommodate diverse learning styles, including visual, auditory, and kinesthetic preferences
- Provide individualized tutoring and coaching to support students’ language development and address specific challenges
- Manage classroom dynamics effectively with strong classroom management skills, creating a respectful and inclusive learning environment
- Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, adjusting lesson plans accordingly
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, teacher coaching, and implementing best practices in adult language education
Requirements
- Proven experience teaching ESL to adults in classroom or online environments with a focus on adult learning principles
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional design, and instructional materials development for adult education
- Familiarity with LMS platforms and learning technology tools used for online instruction
- Excellent communication skills, including writing skills for lesson planning and student feedback
- Ability to work effectively with students from diverse cultural backgrounds and adapt instruction to various learning styles
- Demonstrated classroom management skills combined with flexibility in instructional adaptability
Nice to have:
- Experience working with special populations such as visually impaired or deaf education students
- Bilingual abilities or experience in literacy education
