About the role
We are looking for a hands-on Engineering Supervisor who enjoys troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining building systems. Experience with HVAC and plumbing is strongly preferred, along with a general knowledge of hotel or building maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Assign and prioritize daily work orders and projects.
- Perform and oversee preventive maintenance throughout the hotel.
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, and other mechanical equipment.
- Respond to maintenance emergencies and equipment issues as needed.
- Inspect completed work and ensure repairs are completed properly.
- Coordinate maintenance work with other hotel departments to minimize guest disruption.
- Help maintain and inspect building safety equipment and ensure compliance with applicable codes and safety requirements.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized manner.
- Follow proper safety procedures and chemical handling guidelines.
- Assist with training, scheduling, supervising, and supporting Engineering team members.
- Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; trade or vocational training is a plus.
- Strong hands-on experience with HVAC and plumbing systems is strongly preferred.
- Experience with refrigeration, electrical, and general building maintenance is a plus.
- Previous hotel, commercial building, or facilities maintenance experience preferred.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and building systems.
- Ability to read work orders, equipment manuals, and basic plumbing or electrical diagrams.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance and safe work practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position.
