Duties
MAJOR DUTIES:
· Operates bulldozers, graders, backhoes, front-end loaders with attachment, tractor-trailer, 2 ½ to 20 ton dump trucks, trenchers, rollers, paving machines and water distributors to excavate, push, pull, pile, compact, or load materials, such as sand, gravel, earth, coal, pavement, and clearing brush, rocks, tree stumps, and other material.
· Maintains, repairs, and constructs flexible and rigid pavements or similar cement, asphalt, and concrete surfaces.
· Operates a boom crane at various outdoor locations and inside aircraft hangars.
· Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean working environment.
May be required to operate welding tools associated with the welding trade such as oxygen/acetylene torch for welding, heating and cutting or electric welding equipment necessary to perform repairs to job related equipment.
Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: No specific length of experience is required. However, you must be able to demonstrate that you have the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities gained through training and/or experience to perform the duties described above. WELL QUALIFIED: A well-qualified candidate will have experience in operating engineering and construction equipment and perform functions as cutting, moving, digging, grading, and rolling earth, sand, stone, and other materials and to operate airfield clearing equipment and auxiliary equipment.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE**:** Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
