Engineer II - Field Service

About This Role

This Field Service Engineer II role involves providing both on-site and remote technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems and other power electronics products. The position requires extensive knowledge of UPS systems, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure power system reliability and performance.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and remote support for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of UPS systems
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues affecting UPS performance
• Assist in the configuration and commissioning of new UPS installations
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on UPS systems to ensure optimal performance
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including any repairs or replacements
• Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions
• Train customers on the proper use and maintenance of UPS systems
• Prepare detailed reports of service visits, including diagnostic findings, actions taken, and recommendations for future maintenance
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of all service activities and customer interactions
• Stay current with the latest developments in UPS technology and industry best practices
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance technical skills and knowledge
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards in all service activities

Requirements

• Diploma/bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering/Electronics Engineering
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in UPS systems support or a related field
• Strong understanding of electrical and electronics principles and UPS technology
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing UPS systems
• Familiarity with network protocols and remote monitoring tools
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
• Ability to travel as needed
• Ability to lift and handle UPS components and equipment
