Job: Security Engineer

Location: Fort Worth, TX

Technical Responsibilities & RequirementsKey Responsibilities

• Write, test, and document technical work products, including code, scripts, processes, and technical solutions, according to organizational standards and practices.
• Solve complex technical problems and build reusable components and libraries with broad organizational impact.
• Deliver high-quality technical work and coach junior engineers on technical craftsmanship and best practices.
• Conduct root cause analysis to identify systemic problems and define and lead execution of action items to address identified issues.
• Design thoughtfully integrated systems that follow organizational best practices, enabling teams across product domains to deliver value with speed, scale, and reliability.
• Oversee technical debt management within existing systems and identify opportunities to eliminate technical debt through ongoing implementations.
• Anticipate scaling, latency, and durability challenges and guide teams in implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Partner with security organizations to incorporate security-conscious practices early in the system and software development lifecycle.
• Evaluate technical risks and guide teams toward practical prevention and mitigation strategies.
• Assess squad delivery practices across areas of influence, recommend improvements to leadership, and drive implementation of approved improvements.
• Identify opportunities to eliminate duplication of effort and promote reuse across teams and technical environments.
• Measure and assess team performance and identify areas for individual development and technical growth.
• Explore emerging technologies and independently lead prototype development with minimal guidance, incorporating appropriate technologies into architectural solutions.

Top RequirementsSecurity Engineering Experience

• 5+ years of security engineering experience with demonstrated independent ownership of security projects.
• Must have hands-on experience owning and delivering security engineering projects rather than primarily working in a queue-based SOC analyst environment.

Detection Engineering & Security Investigation

• Demonstrated experience independently developing and managing security detections and investigations.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel .
• Strong KQL/query development and rule authoring experience.
• Experience creating and maintaining security dashboards.
• Ability to conduct end-to-end security event investigations independently.
• Strong written documentation skills for security investigations, findings, root cause analysis, and remediation activities.
• Experience must extend beyond basic SOC queue management or alert triage.

PKI Engineering

• Hands-on PKI engineering experience , rather than simply consuming or using certificates.
• Demonstrated understanding of PKI solution design, implementation, and operations.
• Knowledge of certificate enrollment protocols, including:
  • SCEP
  • EST
• Understanding of Certificate Policy (CP) and Certification Practice Statement (CPS) .
• Understanding of PKI trusted roles and responsibilities.
• Knowledge of Levels of Assurance (LoA) .
• Familiarity with NIST SP 800-63 .
• Experience implementing or supporting real-world PKI use cases, including:
  • Certificate-based authentication
  • Software signing
  • Software validation
  • Certificate lifecycle management

Remediation Lifecycle Engineering

• Experience owning vulnerability and security finding remediation processes from initial finding through validated closure .
• Ability to review remediation plans, track findings, coordinate remediation activities, validate fixes, and document closure.
• Strong understanding of vulnerability management and remediation lifecycle processes.

Nice-to-Have Skills & Experience

• Hands-on experience with AI/agentic security tooling , including:
  • Claude
  • LLM-assisted code and configuration analysis
  • Prompt engineering for security use cases
• Experience aligned with CISO AI/security initiatives.
• Absolute endpoint platform engineering , including:
  • SSO
  • Policy groups
  • API integrations
• Scripting and automation experience with:
  • Python
  • PowerShell
• Aviation cybersecurity experience.
• OT security experience.
• Cyber-physical systems experience.
• Embedded systems security experience.
• Hands-on experience with HSMs and hardware-backed key management.
• Experience with key-management infrastructure .
• Experience designing, implementing, or supporting code-signing infrastructure .
• Aviation security and cybersecurity experience.
