Energy - Designer III

About This Role

This Designer III position is the third level in the Designer career track, focusing on moderately complex design projects for utility systems. The role involves creating designs for overhead and underground circuits, lighting, and gas and generation systems, as well as field data collection. It suits a designer who can work independently on projects and provide support for more complex tasks, interacting with clients and construction crews.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform field data collection and project-specific inspections for moderately complex projects, accurately and efficiently
• Produce high-quality computer-aided design drawings and a list of materials needed for the construction of simple projects
• Provide support required by supervision for more complex tasks
• Ensure all necessary communications are documented on projects designed as required by training
• Provide guidance and training to peers and newer designers for simple projects
• Produce permitting documentation, as needed, independently
• Demonstrate the ability to communicate with clients and participate in site meetings with oversight

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent, and four years relevant work experience, or an Associate’s Degree and three years of relevant work experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Pre-employment drug screening and background check are conditions of employment
• Motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position

• Work environment: primarily office-based with significant field work
