About This Role
This consulting role involves providing a wide range of services to clients in the energy sector, helping them navigate rapid changes in the business environment and achieve steady growth. The consultant will focus on strategic planning, business reform, and policy response measures.
Responsibilities
- Compose and provide services in areas such as management strategy and business strategy
- Formulate medium-term management plans, business structure reforms, new business strategies, and growth strategies
- Enhance management planning and control, develop and monitor performance indicators, and optimize management operations
- Drive and implement DX initiatives, optimize marketing and sales operations, enhance financial and accounting operations, strengthen risk management, ensure regulatory compliance, and develop HR systems
- Manage programs/projects related to institutional responses, including program management offices and large-scale project management offices
- Communicate with CXO/department head-level clients across all business domains to understand management challenges
- Collaborate with service lines to propose solutions and form project teams
- Manage large-scale and highly difficult projects
- Develop continuous or related projects
Requirements
- University degree or higher
- Knowledge of the energy business, including the electric power/gas utility industry or the oil/gas development/refining industry
- Understanding of major operations (e.g., power generation, transmission/distribution, retail/development/manufacturing)
- Understanding of organizational and IT system structures in the industry
- Strong interest in domestic and international industry regulations and trends
- Logical thinking skills
- Communication skills
- Ability to detect and analyze problems/issues, organize discussion points, conceive approaches to solutions, explain them to clients, gain their empathy, and implement them
- Ability to make an impact on projects and clients in meetings, beyond mere facilitation
- Ability to communicate appropriately and in a timely manner with clients and team members, share information, and allocate responsibilities and authorities
- Mindset to drive projects with ownership and motivate other project members
- Ability to collaborate with related teams and stakeholders
- Japanese: Fluent or higher
Nice to have:
- 3+ years of professional experience in a consulting firm, regardless of client industry
- 3+ years of professional experience in planning departments such as management planning or sales planning, or in business development departments within a business company
