About the role
Role: Center Medical Specialist at plasma donation centers.
Responsibilities: Conduct physical examinations, assess donor eligibility, build rapport, ensure confidentiality, educate donors on health and test results, manage injuries and adverse events, evaluate medical histories, assist in staff training, and administer hepatitis vaccines.
Qualifications: Current licensure or certification as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Paramedic, or EMT, with CPR certification. Must meet state requirements.
Skills & Attributes: Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, sitting, bending, twisting, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and fine motor movements. Good communication, observational skills, and the ability to work independently. Exposure to biological fluids, cold environments, and electrical equipment with appropriate PPE is required.
Key Duties: Ensure donor health and safety, manage medical procedures, educate and counsel donors, and support staff training in a plasma center environment.
