About the Role

An international digital commerce organisation is seeking an Employee Relations Case Manager to provide expert support on employee relations matters within a global People Services environment.

The role focuses on managing employee relations cases, including performance management, disciplinary matters, workplace accommodations, dispute resolution, sickness and return-to-work processes, and internal investigations.

Initially focused on the Belgian employment environment, the position offers the opportunity to gain international exposure and progressively support additional countries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage employee relations cases from initial enquiry through to resolution.
  • Provide guidance on performance management, disciplinary and non-disciplinary actions, terminations and employment standards.
  • Research and apply Belgian employment standards and labour legislation to ensure legal compliance.
  • Conduct internal investigations, including whistleblowing and sensitive employee cases.
  • Assess employee enquiries received through the People Services portal and other channels, escalating cases where appropriate.
  • Maintain service-level agreements (SLAs) relating to responsiveness, case resolution and employee satisfaction.
  • Ensure employee relations policies, procedures and guidance remain accurate, consistent and aligned with local requirements.
  • Review and update People policies to reflect Belgian localisation and legislative requirements.
  • Partner with Legal teams to validate complex cases and determine appropriate escalation.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners to provide comprehensive employee support, managing Tier 2 matters and escalating Tier 3 cases where required.
  • Coach and advise managers at different levels on employee relations processes, documentation and best practices.
  • Support dispute resolution and mediation between employees and management.
  • Build effective working relationships across People Services, HR, Legal and other business functions.
  • Maintain accurate and consistent employee relations information within HR systems.
  • Develop strong understanding of the business and the needs of supported departments.
  • Work with relevant employee representation and social negotiation bodies where required.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary qualification in Human Resources, Psychology or a related discipline.
  • Previous HR experience, including at least 1 year of specialised Employee Relations experience .
  • Experience managing internal workplace investigations.
  • Experience developing or maintaining HR policies, procedures and Employee Relations guidance.
  • Proven ability to advise and coach managers on employment-related actions.
  • Strong understanding of employment standards and labour legislation.
  • Experience researching and applying country-specific employment regulations.
  • Strong case management, documentation and escalation skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively with HR/People Services teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with HR systems and employee information.
  • Experience working with Works Councils or employee representative bodies is advantageous.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Fluent English plus business-level proficiency in French or Dutch .
