Employee Relations Manager

About This Role

The Employee Relations Manager serves as a trusted HR partner to leaders across various business divisions, focusing on employee relations, performance management, compliance, training, and HR operations. This role is responsible for ensuring consistent application of employment policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices, and suits an experienced HR professional with strong employee relations expertise and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR resource for employee relations matters, workplace investigations, corrective action, and performance management
• Partner with operational managers to address employee concerns, disciplinary issues, coaching opportunities, and performance improvement plans
• Oversee the organization's performance management process, including annual reviews, documentation, and leadership support
• Deliver and coordinate training programs focused on labor compliance, leadership development, employee relations, interviewing, and performance management
• Manage employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding support, status changes, offboarding activities, exit interviews, and workforce analytics
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws through audits, recordkeeping, HRIS oversight, and regulatory reporting requirements
• Support unemployment claims, employee communications, engagement initiatives, and HR operational processes
• Lead and contribute to strategic HR projects aimed at improving manager resources, employee experience, learning programs, and organizational effectiveness

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of progressive HR experience with emphasis on employee relations, compliance, performance management, and HR operations
• Experience conducting workplace investigations and managing sensitive employee matters
• Strong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and best practices
• Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills
• Experience utilizing HRIS platforms and maintaining employee records with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality

Nice to have:

• HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or equivalent)
• Experience with Paycor, Yardi Aspire, or similar HR technology platforms
• Experience supporting multi-site or multi-entity organizations
