Employee Relations Manager

About This Role

This highly visible position on the factory floor serves as the primary HR partner for production employees, supporting the manufacturing workforce and strengthening communication between employees and leadership. You will address employee concerns, guide supervisors on people-related issues, and ensure employees understand policies, total rewards, and available resources. The ideal candidate builds trust naturally with hourly employees, thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and is passionate about creating a fair, respectful, and supportive workplace.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR contact for factory-floor employees
• Address employee concerns, workplace conflicts, and policy questions quickly and professionally
• Partner with supervisors and management to resolve employee relations issues and maintain a positive work environment
• Conduct employee relations investigations when needed
• Maintain a strong, regular presence on the production floor to build relationships and stay connected with employees
• Act as a trusted resource and advocate for employee questions and concerns
• Support communication between HR, management, and production teams
• Assist employees with questions regarding total rewards, policies, and other HR programs
• Help employees navigate company resources and ensure they understand available options
• Support benefits enrollment periods, employee education, and ongoing training efforts
• Ensure consistent application of company policies and employment practices
• Maintain documentation of employee relations activities
• Support HR initiatives focused on engagement, retention, and workplace culture

Requirements

• Fluent in English and Spanish (spoken and written)
• 3+ years of HR and employee relations experience with a demonstrated track record of connecting with hourly workforces
• Experience supporting hourly employees in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment
• Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
• Ability to build trust with employees across different roles and backgrounds
• Comfortable working directly on the factory floor and engaging with production teams

Nice to have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
• Experience with manufacturing workforce environments
• Familiarity with benefits administration, HRIS systems, and employee support programs
• HR certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR
