About the role

Duties

The primary purpose of this Air Reserve Technician (ART) Enlisted position is to: (1) provide overall management of reserve wing and unit-level emergency management (EM) and chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) defense programs (2) ensure AF Incident Management and CBRN defense trainings provided to assigned reserve wing personnel, (3) plan for and ensure EM personnel are prepared to meet Management and CBRN defense training is provided to assigned reserve wing personnel (4) Plan for and ensure EM personnel are prepared to meet rapid deployment requirements in support of contingency or wartime operations.

The incumbent will

  • Manage the Emergency Management and CBRN Defense programs for the reserve wing.
  • Serve as technical advisor to reserve wing and squadron commanders and provide sound technical advice on Air Force Incident Management.
  • Provide overall administrative management of readiness and EM flight resources.
  • Manage and oversee reserve wing emergency management and CBRN training program.

Qualifications

You must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service that has given you particular knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of the position. Typically we would find this experience overseeing emergency management programs; running emergency control centers; support emergency operation interpreting and applying emergency management regulations and procedures; reviewing documents for accuracy; preparing reports from data for reports; providing emergency management response and training; assessing chemical biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) defense and hazardous material (HAZMAT) programs; conducting training briefing various audiences. (To be creditable specialist experience must meet the above quality level requirements)

The assessment questionnaire is designed to measure your ability in the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): (1) Knowledge of Policies Governing Emergency Management Programs and Activities. (2) Knowledge of the chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) defense programs, governing directives, and methods and procedures for program implementation. (3) Ability to Communicate Orally. (4) Ability to communicate orally.

Substitution of Education for Experience: Master's Degree or equivalent graduate degree to two (2) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., in a relevant field of study. This education demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of a Readiness Program Specialist and is related to the duties of this position. If you are qualifying based on education, a legible copy of your college transcripts identifying institution name and location, type of degree and date conferred is required. NOTE: OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE FURNISHED UPON APPOINTMENT.
