Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician

About This Role

This role is for a credentialed veterinary technician who thrives on the front lines of emergency veterinary care, handling a wide range of cases from minor to complex emergencies. You will collaborate with doctors and the team to deliver gold standard, emotionally intelligent care, while being a steady, compassionate presence for pet parents in stressful moments.

Responsibilities

• Treat every patient and person with care and compassion
• Keep people and pets together, staying by their side through tests, treatments, and everything in between
• Deliver nursing care, treatments, and emotional support in critical moments, from triage to discharge
• Administer medications, monitor patients, and perform advanced procedures such as IVs, CRIs, and blood transfusions
• Communicate effectively as a teammate and think like a leader, helping shape plans and keep care flowing
• Perform CPR as a trained RECOVER professional
• Handle diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tube placement
• Administer anesthesia, even for fragile patients
• Utilize advanced techniques including central lines, endoscopy, and ultrasounds

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program strongly preferred
• Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located is required
• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role
• Basic computer skills and a comprehension of practice management software and electronic medical record keeping
• Excellent communicator and calm under pressure
• Fine motor skills for handling patients and medical equipment
• Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, and work on the floor

Nice to have:

• VTS in ECC, internal medicine or anesthesia/analgesia (will lead to extra considerations in compensation)
• Experience in emergency or specialty medicine
