Position: Embedded & Firmware Validation
Location: Bucharest, Romania (Hybrid 2 days onsite/week)

Role Overview
This role focuses on validation of Security firmware on NXP automotive SoCs.
The engineer will be responsible for validating securitycritical firmware components
across SoC, MPU, and MCU platforms, ensuring correctness, robustness, and
compliance with automotive and security requirements.
The position emphasizes firmware validation, debugging, and systemlevel
analysis, working closely with development, architecture, and system teams
Your responsibilities
Perform firmware validation for security firmware on NXP automotive platforms
Validate firmware functionality at:
Black Box level
SoC level
System / integration level
Execute validation on ARMbased SoC / MPU / MCU architectures
Debug complex firmware and securityrelated issues using hardware and software debug
tools
Support validation of:
Secure boot–related firmware flows
Lowlevel embedded firmware functionality
Analyze failures, isolate root causes, and provide actionable debugging insights
Collaborate with firmware development and architecture teams during validation cycles
To be successful in this role you have:
Embedded & Firmware Validation
Strong experience in embedded firmware validation
Good understanding of embedded system design and behavior
Architecture Knowledge
SoC / MPU / MCU architecture
ARM architecture (Automotive experience preferred)
Exposure to NXP automotive SoCs (preferred)
Programming & OS
C, Python, Scripting Languages
RTOS experience
Toolchains & IDEs

Strong handson debugging capability

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer
Engineering, or related field with 10 years or more relevant experience.
Experience with technical analysis and decomposition of customer use-case.
Proven experience in Microcontroller Architecture, Software, SoC
Architecture, or system-level Integration.
Strong expertise in C programming, Enterprise Architect (UML).
Strong understanding of security standards, security protocols, cryptography.
Strong understanding of microprocessor and microcontroller architectures,
including CPU cores, DSP, memory management, and peripheral integration.
Strong collaboration skills to work directly with customers and across
multidisciplinary teams, including silicon, software, firmware, board design
engineers and program management.
Experience in Automotive software development processes.
