Email Marketing Manager

About This Role

This contract role supports a high-volume, sophisticated email marketing program for a leading consumer technology brand during its busiest season. The focus is on email campaign activation and execution, taking campaigns already mapped to the seasonal CRM roadmap and owning the work required to bring them to market. The environment is fast-paced and high-volume, with millions of customers receiving multiple communications each week.

Responsibilities

• Own the activation and execution of complex CRM and email campaigns from initial brief through launch and optimization
• Develop detailed email campaign briefs and supporting documentation
• Lead creative kickoffs with agency teams for net-new email campaigns
• Manage creative updates and enhancements to existing campaigns
• Translate campaign objectives into clear, detailed requirements for email operations teams
• Manage sophisticated audience segmentation, behavioral targeting, personalization, dynamic content, and campaign versioning
• Support highly personalized email campaigns leveraging Braze and Movable Ink
• Work closely with email operations teams to ensure audience logic, content variations, campaign requirements, and personalization rules are clearly defined
• Coordinate campaigns across creative, development, product, legal, analytics, operations, project management, and CRM stakeholders
• Maintain a clear understanding of campaign status, dependencies, approvals, risks, and next steps
• Participate actively in client meetings and serve as a responsive, knowledgeable partner to CRM leadership
• Quickly develop a strong understanding of the client’s products, customer segments, seasonal roadmap, and work-in-progress stages
• Review campaign reporting and performance data
• Identify opportunities to improve campaign effectiveness and make informed optimization recommendations
• Manage multiple concurrent campaigns while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Proactively identify issues, ask questions, and keep work moving in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

• Approximately 10+ years of progressive experience across CRM, email marketing, lifecycle marketing, digital campaign activation, or closely related work
• Significant experience managing complex, high-volume email marketing programs
• Deep understanding of the end-to-end email campaign lifecycle, including briefing, creative development, campaign requirements, audience segmentation, deployment readiness, reporting, and optimization
• Strong experience with Braze and/or Movable Ink is highly valued
• Strong understanding of dynamic content, personalization, behavioral segmentation, audience logic, and campaign versioning
• Experience translating marketing objectives into detailed campaign requirements for email operations and technical teams
• Experience managing multiple audience segments and numerous creative or behavioral variations within a single campaign
• Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder-management skills
• Experience working directly with senior marketing and CRM stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to operate effectively across creative, analytics, product, operations, development, legal, and marketing teams
• Strong understanding of email campaign measurement and the ability to translate reporting into actionable optimization recommendations
• Ability to quickly understand complex products, customer journeys, campaign ecosystems, and existing workflows
• Ability to manage significant campaign volume without sacrificing quality or attention to detail
• A proactive, responsive working style with the confidence to actively engage in meetings and drive work forward
• Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment with tight timelines and changing priorities
• Agency experience is strongly beneficial
