Elevator Technician Supervisor

About This Role

This supervisory role involves assisting with the repair and maintenance of Automated People Movers and similar devices like elevators, escalators, dumbwaiters, and moving walkways. The supervisor ensures these systems meet safety regulations and building codes within Miami 7 facilities. The role requires fostering teamwork and cooperation while monitoring efficiency and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and determine causes of trouble in brakes, electrical motors, switches, signal, and control systems
• Troubleshoot using computers, test lamps, voltmeters, ammeters, and oscilloscopes
• Disassemble defective units
• Repair or replace parts such as electrical door locks, cables, electrical wiring, and faulty safety devices
• Install push button control systems, complete control systems, and other devices to modernize automated people mover systems
• Clean and lubricate bearings and other parts to minimize friction
• Maintain elevator cabs in accordance with code

Requirements

• Florida Certified Elevator Technician (CET)
• Florida Certificate of Competency
• Experience with ASME A17.1 code compliance
• 5+ years elevator maintenance and repair experience
• 3+ years supervisory experience
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and emergency response
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to pass federal background screening and site access requirements
• Proficiency with MS Office computer programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• High school or equivalent education
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Ability to work in machine rooms, shafts, pits, confined spaces, and elevated locations
• Availability for emergency and after-hours callouts as required
• Must possess, obtain, and maintain any license, registration, certification, or credential required by federal, state, or local law for the performance of assigned duties
