Electronic Mechanic

Duties

This position is located within the Facilities Management Service, Biomedical Section at the Washington, DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Washington, DC. The primary purpose of this position is to provide assistance in the Electrical Management Section. Your duties can include but are not limited to the following:

• Repair and maintain electronics including nurse call systems, television system maintenance, electronic signage/marqueesupport and audio/visual equipment support;
• Install, operate, maintain and repair various electronic systems and equipment in a medical center;
• Conduct functional tests to determine extend and location of malfunction to isolate defective components;
• Conduct performance tests of equipment and components to ensure operational;
• Determine schedule of preventive maintenance and formulates methods and techniques to perform all maintenance;
• Develop maintenance processes, implementing contract repair processes and developing internal auditing systems;
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday - 8am to 4:30pm

Qualifications

Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C. For this position, the job element method is used to match what you, the applicant, can do against what the work calls for.
