Electrician III (Correctional Facility)

Job Description and Duties Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor of Building Trades, the Electrician III will plan, layout, lead, and inspect the work of a group of Electricians and inmate workers engaged in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical apparatus and equipment. Maintain, inspect, and repair all aspects of the Lethal Electrified Fence (LEF). Ensure that all Electricians are and remain trained on all aspects of LEF operation/repair. Make rough sketches of and estimate the cost of a variety of electrical installations; advise in the selection of electrical materials; order the necessary materials; see that work is done according to plans and specifications and ensure that safety regulations are followed.

Candidates new to CDCR/CCHCS are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, as well as a Tuberculosis test/evaluation prior to appointment, followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.

• Knowledge of principles, methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment; National Electric Code and Electrical Safety Orders of the Division of Industrial Safety applicable to electrical work.
