POSITION:

EI Resource Classroom

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Michigan Special Education Teacher Certification (SE Certification), EI Endorsement
  • Experience with in a resource room required, experience in a self contained classroom preferred
  • Experience with students with emotional impairments
  • Must meet MCL 380.1531 & Administrative Rules Governing the Certification of MI Teachers
  • Other requirements as determined by the Lincoln Park Board of Education

DUTIES:

  • Adapting, accommodating, and modifying the general education curricula, pedagogy, and learning environments for students.
  • Aligning and adapting the student’s program with the general education curriculum
  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized behavior management strategies and plans. Must prepare and implement behavior plans based upon functional behavioral assessments.
  • Participate in/facilitate Wraparound Meetings
  • Using a range of curriculum guides to assist with identifying functional goals.
  • Employing current assessment instruments and approaches, intervention methodologies, strategies, and techniques that are appropriate for students linking assessment outcomes to curriculum planning.
  • Ability to complete records in a timely manner
  • Possess skills to communicate to all members of the school & community
  • Be able to meet the physical and mental demands of the teaching profession and the position
  • Philosophy in accord with Lincoln Park Public Schools
  • Able to work cooperatively
  • Ability to follow requirements of supervisors
  • Classroom instruction and instructional leader for meeting the needs of Special Education students
  • Other duties as required by Executive Director of Special Education and Building Principal
