About the role

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and national regulations.

Conduct regular inspections of construction sites, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Provide safety training to employees on topics such as hazard recognition, emergency response, and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.

Maintain records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incidents for regulatory reporting and analysis purposes.

Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Stay current on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to occupational safety and health.

Participate in safety committees and meetings to discuss safety issues, initiatives, and performance metrics.

Coordinate with external agencies and contractors on safety-related matters as needed.

Assist with the development and review of emergency response plans and procedures.

Qualifications:

Diploma/degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Professional certification such as Advance diploma in industrial safety.

Proven experience in occupational safety and health management, preferably in a construction industry with high rise constructions.

Strong knowledge of applicable safety regulations (e.g., Factory Rules, MBOCW,EPA) and industry standards.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively train and educate employees at all levels.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct thorough incident investigations and root cause analyses.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding high standards of safety and compliance.

Demonstrated leadership abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks
