Responsibilities:

  • Define, champion and oversee enterprise-wide data governance frameworks to support DBS Data & AI ambitions and mitigate risks across the end-to-end data lifecycle.
  • Expand data governance frameworks to holistically address the unique challenges of agentic AI, real-time and unstructured data use.
  • Entrench the data ownership model across all units and locations, fostering a strong data ownership and accountability mindset.
  • Partner with risk management and technology leadership to define and execute data governance initiatives.
  • Drive communication, messaging and alignment on data governance standards and outcomes, at all organisational level.
  • Establish playbooks, learning materials and tools to operationalise data governance standards and enable seamless implementation by units.
  • Establish and embed data risk controls to oversee and validate the implementation of data governance standards.
  • Spearhead the transformation and scaling of data governance processes with AI and automation.
  • Continuously refine and improve data governance frameworks to address emerging data risks, technology developments, evolving DBS data and AI use cases, and changes in the regulatory landscape.
  • Define, monitor and report on key risk indicators and data governance outcomes.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data governance specialists, cultivating a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous learning.

Requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant field such as computer science, engineering, mathematics, or data science.
  • Subject matter expertise in data governance, data management or risk management.
  • In-depth understanding of data risks and controls, data lifecycle management, and data governance areas such as data ownership, metadata and lineage, data quality, data compliance.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional data governance initiatives from conception through to successful implementation.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive change across diverse teams.
  • Extensive experience with data governance tools and use of AI to scale data governance practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, proficiency in articulating complex topics to a broad audience.
  • Excellent ability to develop and deliver engaging, high-impact presentations.
