Definition/Primary Function
- The ED Technician is the designation to an individual who, through formal education and/or clinical experience under the direct supervision of an RN, functions within the framework and objectives of the Nursing Division at Fairview Hospital.

Position Qualifications (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
- Experience:
- Minimum one year experience in a medical setting in either a CNA or EMS capacity preferred.
- Education and Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a medical assistant training course and/or EMT preferred.
- Phlebotomy and EKG training or receive training at FVH.
- License, Certification & Registration:
- EMT 1 and/or CNA is preferred.
- CPR certification required within three months.
- Other Requirements:
- Ability to work well with people.
- Must possess strong interpersonal, communication and computer skills.
