About the role
Role Overview: The ED Tech Level I is a multi-skilled caregiver supporting Registered Nurses by providing safe, age-appropriate patient care and technical procedures in the Emergency Department.
Key Responsibilities: Obtain and document vital signs, perform 12-lead EKGs, bedside blood sugar testing, superficial wound care, oral suctioning, splint application, and instruct on safe ambulation with crutches.
Operate cardiac and pulse oximetry monitors, transport patients, supplies, and medications, ensure stocked patient areas, and monitor patients in restraint/seclusion.
Perform aseptic procedures such as urethral catheterization, sterile tray prep, dressing changes, and phlebotomy.
Manage telesitter carts, troubleshoot connectivity, and respond to escalation needs.
Recognize and communicate arrhythmias, maintain equipment, and ensure compliance with safety and policy standards.
Qualifications & Skills: High school diploma or GED, BLS certification, effective communication, computer proficiency, team-oriented, and skilled in vital sign measurement.
Must demonstrate initiative and collaboration to support patient care and safety.
