Drywall Installer

About This Role

This role involves installing drywall, assisting other tradespeople, and maintaining a clean and safe worksite. It suits a physically capable individual with good hand-eye coordination and a commitment to safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Clean up worksites from hazardous or obsolete material
• Assist welders, carpenters, painters or other tradespeople on-site
• Handle and transport materials (e.g. drywall sheets) and equipment (e.g. drills and grinders)
• Use power tools and machinery (e.g. forklifts) when needed
• Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labor tasks (e.g. installing, packing board)
• Help with setting up and transferring temporary structures (e.g. drywall equipment's)
• Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions

Requirements

• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 40 pounds etc.)
• Good hand-eye coordination
• Communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to safety rules
• 2 years of experience
• Construction experience: 2 years (required)
• English (preferred)
• Class 5 Licence (preferred)

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with power tools and machinery
• Apprenticeship or specialization
