Downsizing, Online Auction & Estate Sale Associate

Part-Time | $17–$20 per hour, based on experience

Caring Transitions of North Madison & Sun Prairie helps seniors and families with downsizing, relocation, estate sales, online auctions, and home clean-outs. We are looking for dependable, compassionate, and detail-oriented team members who enjoy organizing, researching, and helping others.
This is an active, hands-on position inside clients’ homes throughout North Madison, Sun Prairie, and surrounding areas. Local travel is required, and weekly hours may vary based on scheduled projects.
Responsibilities
- Sort and organize belongings for sale, donation, relocation, recycling, or disposal
- Assist seniors and families with downsizing and home organization
- Prepare furniture, collectibles, and household items for CTBids online auctions
- Research items and write clear, accurate auction descriptions
- Measure and photograph items using a smartphone
- Upload photos and item details into auction and inventory apps
- Set up merchandise, tables, displays, and signage for estate sales
- Assist customers and help process purchases during sales
- Organize sold items for customer pickup
- Pack belongings and assist with light clean-out tasks
- Handle clients’ homes and belongings with care, compassion, and respect
Professional movers handle items requiring specialized or heavy lifting.
Qualifications
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work well with a team
- Compassionate and nonjudgmental when working with seniors and families
- Organized with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working in cluttered, dusty, or changing environments
- Able to stand, bend, reach, walk, and remain active during projects
- Comfortable using smartphones, apps, and digital tools
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally
- Flexible weekday and occasional weekend availability
Experience with senior transitions, estate sales, antiques, collectibles, online auctions, organizing, moving, or resale is a plus—but not required. We are happy to train the right people who are dependable, eager to learn, and enjoy helping others.
