Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling according to breed standards and customer preferences
- Safely handle dogs of various sizes, temperaments, and special needs using proper animal restraint techniques
- Assess each pet’s coat condition and skin health, providing recommendations for ongoing care or veterinary attention when necessary
- Maintain a clean and sanitary grooming station, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly sanitized after each use
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming requests and provide advice on pet care and maintenance
- Assist with pet handling during appointments, ensuring a calm and safe environment for animals
- Support team members with pet sitting or kennel duties as needed to ensure overall animal well-being
Requirements
- Proven experience in pet grooming or animal handling; certification in pet grooming is preferred
- Strong animal handling skills with the ability to work confidently with dogs of all temperaments and sizes
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to manage larger dogs or equipment safely
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary experience
- Familiarity with veterinary technician or veterinary assistant roles
- Prior experience in kennel management, pet sitting, or animal care roles
- Cat grooming experience
