Responsibilities
- Perform pet grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and pet coat styling tailored to each dog’s breed and individual needs
- Handle dogs safely using animal restraint techniques and proper handling skills to ensure comfort and security during grooming procedures
- Conduct pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, and other grooming tasks to maintain optimal hygiene and health
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming preferences, special needs, and aftercare instructions
- Assist with pet handling during grooming sessions, ensuring animals are calm and comfortable throughout the process
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, including sanitation of tools and work areas in compliance with health standards
- Support additional animal care activities such as kennel cleaning or pet sitting when needed, demonstrating flexibility within the team
Requirements
- Proven experience in pet grooming, including pet coat styling and pet nail trimming
- Strong dog handling skills with the ability to manage various breeds and temperaments safely
- Knowledge of veterinary procedures or veterinary technician/assistant experience is a plus for understanding animal health considerations
- Familiarity with animal restraint techniques and general animal handling practices
- Excellent communication skills to engage with pet owners confidently and professionally
- Ability to lift heavy objects such as grooming equipment or large dogs safely and responsibly
- Experience with animal care routines like kennel management or pet sitting is advantageous
- Customer service orientation with a positive attitude toward client interactions and feedback
