About This Role
This role is for a dog groomer who is passionate about animals and talented at grooming. You will provide professional grooming services that enhance each pet’s appearance and comfort, while delivering exceptional customer service to pet owners. Your expertise will help build lasting relationships with clients and ensure every dog leaves feeling pampered and loved.
Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and brushing to meet each dog’s specific needs and breed standards
- Assess each dog’s coat condition, skin health, and temperament to tailor grooming techniques accordingly
- Maintain a clean and safe grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized and well-organized
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences and provide advice on ongoing care
- Handle dogs with patience and care, especially those with special needs or behavioral challenges
- Assist with animal care duties such as feeding, walking, or light handling when necessary
- Support team members in maintaining a positive and energetic work environment that promotes animal well-being
Requirements
- Prior experience in veterinary settings or animal care is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of animal grooming techniques, breed standards, and coat types
- Excellent customer service skills to engage pet owners professionally and warmly
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting of dogs of various sizes safely and comfortably
- Compassionate attitude towards animals with patience for handling dogs of all temperaments
- Basic understanding of health indicators related to skin or coat issues is a plus
- Willingness to learn new grooming styles, techniques, and safety procedures
