Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, clipping, and styling according to breed standards and customer preferences
- Safely handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments using proper animal restraint techniques
- Maintain a clean and sanitary grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sterilized and organized
- Assess each pet’s coat condition and skin health; recommend appropriate grooming treatments or additional veterinary care if needed
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners about grooming procedures, special needs, and aftercare instructions
- Assist with pet handling during drop-off and pick-up processes to ensure a stress-free experience for animals and owners
- Support other team members with pet care tasks such as feeding, walking, or basic veterinary assistance when required
Requirements
- Proven experience in pet grooming or animal handling; certification in pet grooming is preferred
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary experience is highly advantageous
- Strong animal handling skills with the ability to work confidently with dogs of all breeds and temperaments
- Familiarity with veterinary technician or assistant roles, including animal restraint and basic animal care procedures
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely, including large dogs or equipment, demonstrating physical stamina
- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with clients and team members
